Holiday Inn US Open room trouble?

anyone else having trouble getting a room with 2 beds for the week of the open? was told there are only king beds available. wtf
 
Do you think they are lying and they have a stash of double bed rooms for VIPs that they don't want to give you? Hotels do have a finite amount of rooms you know, they can't just keep adding new ones because they ran out.

the event is half full. maybe mighta wanted to make sure the players, except for the wealthy ones, can share the room and save the money or move the event back where the hotels are.
 
I do not think it is of value to convert a king room to a double to sell a few rooms for a pool tournament. I travel a lot for work and normally the king rooms sell out first and I keep getting stuck a double.

People going with others have grabbed the double rooms so you are going to have to settle for another hotel, or seeing if you can reserve a king room with roll away or carry a cot or air mattress with you. I suggest if you wit much longer the kings will be gone.

Other hotel choices

There are a lot of hotels in that area. The Red Roof is right next door (discounts available on front page of AZB) and the Hampton Inn is right beside that. A Courtyard by Marriot is right across the street.
