Holland, Mi. a blast....

I just returned home to Dallas after a great three day school in Michigan. The school is anually conducted at GUPPIES in Holland. I think I had as much fun in school as all of our students. See everyone next July.

On the road trip up to Holland I stopped off and spent quite a few hours with Mark Wilson. I had been planning on this for a long time. Mark's place is perfect for lessons or just playing. Mark is the perfect host and a great Instructor. But better than that, Mark is a gentleman and a true asset to our sport.

I visited Holland, Michigan, when I was a kid with my parents. It was a beautiful city. I still have some wooden Dutch shoes with my name painted on them that I will always treasure. They still sit at my front door! Of course, they don't fit me anymore, but it's a happy memory!

There is a city in the State of Michigan, here in America, called "Holland." It is beautiful, with gardens full of tulips and other colorful foiliage.

I think a lot of Dutch people may have emigrated to the States years ago and ended up living in this region. It's a very pretty city!

I love my little wooden Dutch shoes with my name on them. As I recall, though, even when I could fit my foot in the wooden shoes, it was a little uncomfortable to walk in for any extended period of time!

There are many, many people of Dutch decent in SW Michigan. Not only is there a city named Holland, Michigan, there are nearby towns named Zeeland and Overisel (yes, that is how they spell it there), and there is a Groningen school district.
