Homemade ball polishers

I'm currently working on a homemade ball polisher. I need some help from all you guys that have done this..........what size/kind of electric motor is needed and what kind of disc (need a 10") did you use to spin the balls. Mine will have 7 -8 balls and will be somewhat like the smaller version of the diamond ball cleaner (pictures recently posted on this site). Thanks.

John Schmidt made one which I saw in Jacksonville. It worked so good and it was so cheap I promised that once I got home, I would make one for our pool hall since the last one burned up and hadn't been replaced.

It is simple to build. YOu can search in the forum for the thread but it goes something like this:
Buy a Ryobi 10" Oribtal Polisher (for vehicles), 2 five gallon buckets, a strip of carpet about 4 inches of carpet that will go all the way around the bucket, some GOOD GLUE for the carpet (because you will be removing the polisher to change pads and polishing cloths from time to time.

If you need any help let me know. All items were purchased at Home Depot and it took more time to buy the items than it did to build the thing. And yes, it works GREAT.

When you have clean balls, you feel like a new man. I mean clean balls will help you pocket balls more easily. I mean, well, you know what I mean.

Just don't follow in my footsteps. As is embarassing as this is to say, here goes:

I followed these same instructions and the end result was great. The ball polisher works awesome; however, i had a little hitch in the process.

Unfortunately, i allowed a relative to cut the hole out of the bottom of the bucket for the polisher, while i was holding the bucket. You see where i'm going with this. The knife slipped out and i was jabbed right in the mouth. "OUCH!"

A quick transport to Urgent care, $50 co-pay, and a few stitches to the lip, and i was back in a couple hours, completing the process. My 40$ ball cleaner ended up costing me about $90 (with the co pay).
