Hoppe Out To Sea!

I just got my daily call from Diana who is in Waikiki HI

Diana decided to rent a large blue raft to float around the Island and nude sun bathe. To her dismay she ended up over a mile off shore in 30 mile an hour trade winds, past the rocks, surfers, coral reef, pink buoys to be rescued by the beach patrol.
Scared to death to move because she applied to much sun tan oil, had to stay dormant while the float drifted out to sea.

Apparently, the rental company forgot to give her an anchor or an ore so she was a drift to the sea.

All is now well and she is due back by Saturday. :D

gee............floating out to sea on a raft to sunbathe is something i would try to avoid..................but that's just me.

I'm glad she's okay but that's pretty funny. I would expect to see that on Gilligans island.

I knew I should have applied for a job in the beach patrol when I was recently there.

Driver, My wife and I are going in October to Maui...are there any pool halls there?

The only one I can even remember seeing was a Family Billiards & Recreation place or something like that as you're coming out of the airport about a mile or two down the road. I didn't even to bother to go in. I doubt very seriously that your housing will be located anywhere close to there. Most of the hotels, condos, timeshares, etc. are a ways out.
Oahu is a different story though, a number of rooms there, a good one is Hawaiian Brians.
If you're going to be on Maui, don't worry, you won't have time for pool.

Di went to Hawaiian Brian's and loved it. I am sure she took a lot of pictures.

I personally would love to have one of a stranded Hoppe in the middle of the sea.

Luckly if the people on the beach wern't watching her sail into the sun, she might have sailed her way home. She took the whole event as Hoppe would. She was laughing hystarically as she told me that she couldn't move on this raft because she had so much oil on her that IF she had started sliding she would have slid directly off the raft into the water with no way of boarding the raft again. :D

Fearless Hoppe enjoyed the raft ride as much as she enjoyed the Islands and Hawaiian Brian's.

I had to laugh as I just was in my closet getting a t-shirt and there was my Hawaiian Brian shirt....DER! But, I noticed that United is going to be offering a direct flight from Chicago to Maui, so we'll probably miss Oahu altogether.

I know about the time factor...the last time there, we just barely made our flight out(one plane door was already shut) as we couldn't mentally "pull" ourselves out of that paradise.

I suppose it would be a big hassle to travel with my cue, anyway.

Just hang loose, brother,

There is a pool room there called Maui Family Billiards. It's pretty close to the airport. In fact, depending on where you're staying once you get there, you may have to pass right by it on your way from the airport. I stopped in there a couple times when I was in Maui, but I never played. It looked like there was even a little action in there.

Come to think of it, I still have the number saved in my cell phone. 808-871-9313

Folks,

All that came to mind was the great scene in the movie "10". From the description given here of her rescue, it appears to be the same thing! Did she have anything in her hair? Was someone checking her out and saved her? Regardless, welcome back Diana!

Thank you, Jimmy...I really appreciate the info.

We're staying in my brother-in-law's condo---I don't know exactly where it is, but if I have some time and my wife "let's" me, I'll try to get in a couple of games, anyway....and maybe a t-shirt, too.

I'm jealous. I had the best vacation I've ever been on (so far) this past summer in Maui. We're going back some time in 2005, but I think we're going to stay a little longer (we were there for one week this summer) and check out at least one of the other islands. If you're into snorkeling, Honolua Bay is great. I went there a few times during my visit. It's much better than Kapalua Bay (which many of the local diving magazines will tell you that Kapalua Bay is one of the best snorkeling spots in Maui. I didn't agree.), and it's far less crowded. I'm getting certified to scuba dive before we go again next year. I couldn't get enough snorkeling while I was there, and I can only imagine that scuba diving is even better, so I can't wait. :)

Are there pictures? :p

I take it you are referring to pictures at the pool hall and not pictures of Dianne rafting nude.

On second thought we can see pool hall pictures any tme.
