I have played with an old 1941-45 ebony Hoppe Professional th last two days, original shaft, and was very impressed with it. When I played with more modern Hoppes in the past, I wasn't impressed, even when I added a good shaft - anyone else ever have one that played well? Another question - in 1941 when Rambow was running the shop that made these, were other cuemakers making comparable cues?
