I am having a local cuemaker make a cue for me. Is there a standard width that a Hoppe ring should be? My cuemaker is unsure so I thought cuemakers on this forum would have that answer. Thanks in advance for your help.

Is there something about the question that was not worded correctly? I would like to know if there is a standard width to a Hoppe ring - such as 1/4" or is it cuemakers preference. Is width the correct word or should I have asked for height? Input from a cuemaker would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if there's a standard size. I'd say that it depends on looks. I'd say make the ring the thickness that best accents the butt sleeve. Not too thick, not to thin. Somewhere between 3/16 and 3/8"..

.250 for the ivory and .350 for the black phenolic looks nice. I'd also be sure to use some kind of rounded bumper (or no bumper).
