Houston Area "Olds"

I'm getting to that era in my life, but not quite there. BUT I was definitely 'raised' by 'olds' back in the early and mid 90s.
I'm not sure the last time I stepped into an actual pool hall, but it's been close to a decade for sure.
I miss those days at times and others I wouldn't wish that life on anybody!

With all that said, I wanted to start up a thread that tells some stories from the 80s and 90s+ from the Houston scene.
I remember when Gabby got busted, Topwater died, Rene Rendon talking about how good his son was in his Jr High days (Anthony Rendon's father) and Nana coming in around 11 pm at Bogies and playing Topwater until one or the other was left with zero dollars in their pockets.

Anybody have some stories to share about SETX / Houston? I sure do.

I grew up in SETX, but left for Nevada in the 1970's. So I won't be able to add stories from the 80's and 90's, but I hope you get good responses. I may recognize some names.
I remember being introduced to true 'pool hall' life in the Keyhole Club in Port Arthur back in the mid 1960's to the early 70's. It was a side of life I'd heard of in whispers, but hadn't experienced until the lure of pool drew me there.

LeCue, Cue & Cushion and Parkers. Monte West and Rodney Steven’s have all the stories.
