You might wan to try Quick - Clean or Chalk Off table cleaner. Spray it on the wrap and use a micro fiber cloth to clean it off. I've lso heard that yellow liquid Pledge soes an ok job bu I haven't used it.

Unless you have a lathe, a linen press, and a linen iron, don't bother trying to clean it yourself. Take it to an experienced cue repairman and let him do it for you.

no matter what you do, you'll end up being sorry, string quality, texture, color will all degrade, send the butt to a
reputable cueman and have the cord cleaned, pressed, waxed and polished.
send the shaft too, let him give it the once over. i'm willing to bet the guy will buff the entire cue as well

Linen wrap

The only way I have ever cleaned a linen wrap is with a bounce dryer sheet will pick up the chalk and take out the nasty smell. I have used it several time my self.

Once or twice a month I dab some isopropyl rubbing alcohol onto a cloth and then wipe the linen wrap clean. You'd be surprised at how dirty the linen wrap can get.

Little alcohol on a rag , being sure to rub in the direction of the wrap. Spray starch or even a little hair spray and then burnish with some rough paper.
