That level of play you're striving for... What are you going to do to get there? What are you willing to sacrifice?

Although I have to go to the past but at the time the answer was, everything.
I quit school to play pool. I played what ever amount it took (I loved playing anyway) and would drive hundreds of miles just to see a top player play that I admired and may even learn something from.
I did become a good player but like everything it is only a part of your life and you move on to other things. If you are lucky you will live long enough to experience many different things and pool is only one of them.
It is fun though to give yourself a chance to see how good you can be at something, be it sports, music art, what ever. You also will have to be your own self, you are going to get a lot of people telling you what you should be doing.
It is really none of their business. Life is not a dress rehearsal and you only go around once. Be nice to live it on your own terms and not be just another schmuck.
Next is the person who is going to come on a tell me how much they love their family and would never do something like that. I am sorry, no one is asking you to.
