I could be wrong but I always thought a barbox was only 3.5x7. 4x8 is more of a home table.

I play at a place with 4 by 8 barboxes. I love playing at the Leucadian Bar. Still 50 cent Pool and nice Tables!
Good Tuesday night tournament!!

Typical 7' bar tables are 40" x 80" playing surface. That's an oversized 7, if anyone is keeping score. Home 7' tables are smaller.

In many parts of the country, they use true 8' bar tables (44" x 88" playing surface). It all depends on what the local entertainment supplier is supplying the bars.

The national amateur tournaments have been using the typical 7' bar tables.

Actually ...

The actual playing surface, from the inside edge of the rails, for an
oversized 7 footer, is 39.5" by 77.5". That is why a jump stick is layed
shortwise to see if it is 40" or more.

An oversized 7 footer is 3.5" wider and 5.5" longer than a normal sized
3.5 x 7 foot table. (enside edge of rail measurement). I know it doesn't
seeem like much, but it does make a world of difference when playing.

My home table is 44X88
