Hello and thanks for looking. ...
just curious on how prather cues play. The wife fell in love with one of the cues at the super billiards expo, so before I shell out $1000 bucks on one of their cues, I would like some feedback on them......
thanks

They seem to be one of the top full splice blank makers, but I've never played with a full Prather-made cue. I've played with a cue made with a Prather blank and it was a really nice looking cue.

I bought this Prather at SBE 2015. It is a well balanced cue that felt right in my hands when I played with it before purchase and still does today.

Prior to my purchase, I only knew that Prather supplied parts and was surprised to find they not only made complete cues, but cues of this caliber. The woods are cocobolo and kielwood.

I have a wrapless from 2000. It is a beauty however I do not enjoy playing with it. Has a thick butt.

Hey,

i met Dan and his son in germany when they visited a friend /cuemaker/- they made buisness with him- and Dan also *taught* him some stuff. What i saw from Dan was really really impressive. It s not his main buisness to make super fancy cues- but believe me- if he wanted....he made fantastic cues. The playability was and is at a high level. The Prather family are great craftmen!

And to say *a price is worth*-- well that s very subjective. ON the collector market that might be right :-)
But for very sure very good cues built by knowledged and expirienced craftmen.

I have 2 of Jeff's cues, one is a regular player, the other one sits at home for ocaisional use as I purchased it from Mike Massey after a show he put on. They play great and they are a solid build. I did have a clear coat issue after a year on the one I use quite often. It was repaired by Jeff at an honest price.
