How do you carry your magic rack with you?

When going to tournaments, what do you carry your magic rack (or turtle rack, or something similar) in so it doesn't get screwed up?

TIA

Magically a rack almost always appears at whatever table I play on... It's usually right next to the foot-end of the table. Sometimes it is in a slot, sometimes it is hanging from a hook under the table, once in a while it hangs from the light above the table.

I hate template tables racks.

I was really talking about automatic runouts' not so much the wing ball. The wing ball is really a lock most of the time in 9Ball regardless of the rack type if the balls are frozen. I just dont agree with the argument that the magic rack makes the game easy or the layout of the balls automatic for the runouts.
Ah gotcha...

I think it really boils down to where on the spectrum you land with considering one's ability and amateur status. For the most part it isn't all that difficult to drop the wing and get the 1 ball to the top corner for an opening shot. From there it starts to rely on the player's ability to develop and execute patterns. That said, it doesn't take more than 650 spd to string several racks together. YMMV

Spoken like a man that is OK with bad racks.
We bring our own $20-30 chalk, a $30 chalk holder for said chalk, multiple pool cues, gloves, towels, a cue ball, sometimes a full set of balls, bags of powder, sandpaper, shaft conditioner, tip tools, but the .1 oz piece of material that works amazingly is the silly one.
Outside of your own cue, a template rack is the #1 thing that will improve the game if the other equipment is normal. The only other thing I would swap out at a random pool hall over the rack is the ball set if it's beat up. Past that, nothing we can bring or use will improve the game more than a template rack.

I can usually get a very good rack.

My chalk holder cost about a quarter.

I use Masters chalk.

I carry one cue with me.

Who uses powder?

My cue case doesn't have a pocket so I don't carry any of the other shite with me.

You say it improves the game. I don't agree.

You seem pretty confident at your current rate of play, so I went digging to see if a template would be of any value to you at your stage of development as a player. Unfortunately I came up dry.

All I can say is that instead of usually getting good racks, you can enjoy always having a good rack. Instead of fighting with the occasional bad racking situation, there were none.

I'm having a hard time understanding what you are getting at with your first paragraph, but I can address the second.

I don't 'enjoy' having a 'perfect' rack, and I don't 'enjoy' playing with people who need a 'perfect' rack. I want a legitimate effort at a tight rack. I don't believe we should strive for as much repeatability as most expect from the break.

I also don't fight over pool.

That's an interesting take, and I can completely respect it.

I don't 'need' a perfect rack, but I 'prefer' a perfect rack. Subsequently, the break is the only truly common element that both players will face within a match. As such, not to make the best effort to provide both players with equal racks as to have their abilities equally measured against one another is unfair.

Regardless if you like them or not. A template is the best and quickest method for provider the breaker a tight and uniform rack.

Not sure why that was added but neither do I.

You shouldn't be taking them to tournaments.
Depends on the tournament. I played in my little local one last night. Within the rules that you can use a template if you have one and are willing to allow your opponent use it as well.

The tables are crap, the balls are crap. At least I can get somewhat of a decent rack...lol

Oh, that was in reference to your comment about fighting the occasional bad racking. I know what you meant, but my comment is more about how I approach pool in general. If it is, or feels like a fight (struggle), I just don't do it, whether it is opponents I don't trust, rules I hate, etc.. of something makes it less fun for me...I just find somewhere/someone else to play.
