To some of us purists, that is the desired outcome. But alas, time waits for no one. In order to speed things up, most tournaments (this one included) have an extended race in the finals. The players have been racing to 11 all week but for the finals they will race to 13 or 14 if I remember correctly.
Once in awhile you will hear the term "true double". A true double is a tournament that requires a person to lose twice. During the finals, if the person that has already lost once beats the person that hasn't lost yet, they will then play another set. The winner of that set will win the True double elimination tournament.
