Like horse race, bet on horse he wins you win =he loses you lose, unles horse buys half his self!!!!

It's where the bidders get screwed by crooked players. lol
Players are put in auction, buyers get his share of winnings.

I've seen them work two ways. In both cases they auction off each player yada yada yada. In some cases the player has the option to buy half of himself and sometimes it is up to the person who won the bid. The only difference I've seen as where the player can bid on themselves prior to the calcutta starting and can bid with everyone else on himself.

I think all calcuttas should be that the player must bid on himself, just like any other person bidding. If the player thinks that they can automatically split with the person that bought him/her it makes the calcutta money lower than if the player had to bid on their self just like all the rest of the bidders. In my opinion the calcutta money could be twice as much if the players had to bid just like everybody else. If you think you are going to win, you better buy yourself, because there is no guarantee someone is going to split with you.
