How good are you?

That could be

a big range from what you think and what others think of you. How can you say anything without tooting your own horn?

But, after 45 years of playing, I do know when I am outmatched, when I am shooting even with an opponent, or when I have the edge over an opponent, and that refers to the whole ball of wax, knowledge and skill about Pool.

Plus, for the guys I beat, I don't want to show my 'all' cause I get enough nitting about getting weight.

For comparisons sake though with the other 2 being known somewhat , I would say I was on even par with Brian Groce and Chad Vilmont.
I beat Brian hill-to-hill and lost to Chad hill-to-hill.

So, I would say I am an 'A' player with 'A+' tendencies.

well....

Well It all depends on who you ask around here. I don't really play much anymore and there are some who swear I'm lying and that I play great, and then there are those who know and have seen me play...IMO, I stink. I have a hard time running a rack anymore. I will still play anyone in this city cause I'm gonna get back to playing sooner or later. I'll just take my time and play when I want. This answer good enough for ya'?

If I had to give an honest opinion of myself I would say I'm consistantly a strong B player who has been improving as of late and if I'm on my "A" game on good equipment then I can play with the A players very competitively.

I've been told by other's that I'm getting close to being put in the A list whether I think I'm an A player or not.

Better than most..... but "most" dont play pool 15 hours a week..
there is no APA over here or anything else for that matter.... but there are some good players that I match against... guys that have travelled to the VNEA in Vegas last year... I dont beat them.. but I play 'em .. so I guess I learn from 'em..
i will be in the States soon .. so i guess we will see

My city has me rated as an 'A' player, because I placed 9th in the state tourny, and won the last two anual B-division city tournies. There are only a few people I won't play even-up in the city, primarily because my mental game and consistency aren't there yet. Everyone I do play even are all A players that I consider to be a little better than me at least confidence-wise. I'm an 8 in APA 9ball after one session, and kept a 9 average in ACS 8ball while I played, which both don't really say anything. I play like a low B player when playing with friends for fun, which is what I do mostly so it's hurting my game alot. I do think I'm worse than I am, and am too serious about it. By my own evaluation I'd say I'm about 90 on that usppa rating system in competition, but it could be lower or higher depending on several factors.

I'll bet whatever against anyone who started playing today. In fact, I dare anybody who's never played to try to beat me.

i couldn't pocket a ball all day.

im on the borderline to be kicked out in several B tournaments i play in, but i still play like a D sometimes

I don't have a USPPA average but I know that I play somewhere between Fast Larry and Efren.

I'm a high C, with touches of a B- here and there. I dunno. You guys in the dcc azb room saw me play; you'd know for sure.

Somewhere between Stevie Wonder and ... ahh forget it. I can't think of anyone.

(I was being sarcastic. Maybe I should have said between Stevie Wonder and Efren.)

I saw the sarcasm. I'm serious though...the guy talks a lot but he's been playing pool for like a century right? Or at least posing pool for like 50 yrs. He must have picked up some knowledge along the way. Has anyone actually played him? Or seen him play?

I am a 50 speed in Usspa but everyone complains I am way underated. I don't know maybe its cause I am so damned inconsistent. One day run out from anywhere one day can't make a ball. If I know one thing about this game though it is that I know nothing.

He can make some pretty cool trick shots. I'll give him that much. I saw them on his site. I'm sure he isn't completely helpless or anything but I seriously doubt 99% of everything he says and I'm being generous by giving him the 1%.

I'm a better player than I ever dreamt of being, but not nearly as good a player as some are kind enough to suggest.

Yeah, what he said. :)

Though I'm sure SJM's level is higher than mine the same kind of relativistic reply fits. I'm an mid-level APA 6, I've no idea how to translate that to USPPA ratings.
