How important is table size?

For training purposes how different is it to practice/train on an 8' vs a 9' table? I'm talking about the kind of training like the Pro Book Series or Burt Kinister's sweet sixteen where you are suppsed to learn specific shots by their names or numbers. Thanks for sharing your opinions!

I'll start by saying the obvious... Use the search feature first.

But... In reference to your question, um... It's very subjective. Perspective, being the subjective part.

If you're going to be doing drills over and over again, you can check it for yourself. Pick a drill or two, or three, etc... Spend the time on an 8ft. Then, go spend the same amount of time on a 9ft, with the same drills.

NOTE: Dedicate the time, don't just bang balls.

Perspective is the key to consistency. Maintain the perspective, gain the consistency.

So.... in answer to your question... It depends on how dedicated you will be to practice/"spend time"/train to notice the difference between an 8' table and a 9' table. Because, there is a difference.

sorry if I sound harsh, but we've seen/heard this question many times and after awhile it gets mind numbing.

I think ...

that a tight pocketed 8 footer is harder to play on than a 9 footer. And they bank different, IMO. If I had to choose, an 8 footer would be my last choice to play a fairly sized money game on.
