How long after a poster signs up is he/she allowed to post on the forums?

Took me forever. I signed up and waited about 2 months before I gave Mike the heads up and then the next day I was able to. I thought it might be something on my side that I forgot to do, but I guess it was Mike being busy and overlooking the new accounts.

only took me about 2-3 days... have the person email the admin and see if they can help out.

I thought it was virtually immediate. I got an automated email when I signed up which I had to respond to and then I was good to go. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but that's how I remember it.

With mine, there were two links that I had to click on in my email notification. The first one completed the registration and the second one activated it. Normally with other forums all I had to do was the first step and then I was able to post. With this one, I did the first step and whenever I went to the site it would welcome me with my user name, so I thought I had done everything correctly, but still wasn't able to post. Two days went by so I re-read the email and clicked to activate and that fixed the problem. I was then able to post after about a minute.

I thought registration was all automated. A couple of possible technical issue that may also be causing your problems:

1) Check your automated replies from the board are not being caught by a Spam filter (There's an automatic one on a lot of free web mail accounts like Hotmail these days)

2) Check you have cookies enabled for the site, otherwise it can show you as logged on but you still cannot not post.

I just went through the process. Its two steps. You register and the admin sends something to you in an e-mail. You then confirm your registration through the link provided. Should be relatively quick. I believe it was within a day.
