1. How many different strokes do you have?

Do you always hit the ball the same way, or do you hit them differently depending on the shots?

Do you sometimes put your cue closer to your body and sometimes further away?

Do you sometimes lock your shoulder/elbow and sometimes not?

2. How many different stances do you use?

Do you place your weight on different foot depending on your shot?

Do you stand differently depending on long shot, power shot, and rail shot and such?

Seriously, I look at the object ball, the cue-ball, get down and allow my body to just fall into place. I do have a standard stance for when I'm breaking and when I'm shooting at a ball in mid-table and I have ample room. Aside from that, I could be anywhere doing just about anything.

I use the same in all as much as I can. When first learning , as I feel we all always will be, I tried to moch the great local and pro players I got to see and play. I used this as a guide , and at first It felt out of place , but in time became my style. If you watch Allison play , she is very mechanical in her moves and stroke. And look at her results!
Practice and rhyth with all the mechanics makes you a better player and gives you the tools.
Hope this helps!
Thanx,
Jim
