How many of you steal chalk from the pool hall?

Yes I am talking to you and how many times do you do this?

I know many at the pool hall and one guy claims he doesn't steal them but only to return the very used one for a new one and the cycle continues.

How many times do you steal the chalk?

Not me, how cheap can pool players be?
Used to always forget mine on the rail and other players would steal it. I started putting colored electric tape around it and if I left it on the rail they would still steal it or grind a hole in it. I finally ordered a pouch from a snooker place in England and now have used the same piece of chalk for over a year on two leagues.
At home, I just keep a few pieces laid out on my table and don't have much of an issue there.
How cheap can someone be to steal a 50 cent piece of chalk?

Just me talking but i used to play a lot in bars and none of them had chalk worth a shit. I'd snag a piece at the 'hall to use later.
Crappy chalk...that's a minor issue. I was in a bar once, where none of the house cues had tips on them. People would put money in the bar box, and then find out there weren't any cues to play with. Talk about a hustle.

I have no problem with a regular customer of a pool hall, who actually spends money there, putting a good piece of chalk in his case so he doesn't have to sort through a box full of crappy worn out chalks every time he plays there.

People who steal the eight ball out of sets of Aramith or other expensive balls are d-bags. Literally half of the pool sets at my local hall are missing the original eight ball.

During one of our pool tournaments the manager for the company who owns the bar boxes was walking around handing out cubes of chalk to some of us , I guess it may of been for his better customers ?
Since I don't play as much pool as I once have a cube of Masters lasts quite some time over a year but while I am playing I drop it into a front pants pocket so it's rare that it gets left on a rail .

I've got the same pouch. Amazing the chalk never falls out

.50 cent? What chalk are you using?

Masters, $6 for 12
That chalk in my picture was not the chalk I use, just stuck it in there for a picture some time back when someone wanted to see the pouch.
I do keep about 4 or 5 pieces of chalk in my case, so I have some green and an extra blue also some more used blue to give to players that never seem to have their own chalk.
