How many pool rooms have you been to?

Danny K's
Hard Times (Bellflower, CA)
On Cue
Nice Rack
College Billiards
Ozone Billiards Cafe
La Rasa Billiards
Stix (Rancho Cucamonga)
Pacific Q
I know there's a few more just can't think right now

Brooklyn: Hall of Fame Billiards; Prime Time Billiards
Queens: Howard Beach Billiard Club
Manhattan: Chelsea Billiards; Amsterdam Billiards (the original and the short-lived one on the Upper East Side); Downtown Athletic Club
Maine: TJ'a Classic Billiards, Waterville
Vermont: Van Phan Sports, South Burlington.

I didn't list any place that has more bar stools than billiard chairs; there have been plenty of those, too.

I have only been in rooms from Brownsville, TX to Toronto, CA....and from Boston to San Diego. Lost count ages ago.

all in nyc :D

4 x 4
4 seasons
carom billiards (apparently the black widow played there a lot or something)
empire
mellenium
5 star
spin city

and a few more i forget the name of.

Quite a few. All the major CA rooms and a lot of the smaller ones. Also been to more than a few rooms out of CA. Tack on to that all the rooms in Tohoku, most of the rooms in Tokyo and its surrounding areas, and a few in Kansai. I would guesstimate around 50-70

What qualifies as a GOOD pool room?

Lots of Action?

Well kept equipment?

Great atmosphere?

Etc....

Probably over 100 easy. IN the early years of my playing there was a room in just about every town in the 120 towns on Long Island, NY. Then you had a bunch more in the city. Add the surrounding states and you had maybe a 1000. Johnnyt

3 good pool rooms in my city, 2 in another one near and 2 in another one further away. Lots of not so good ones XD.

I like this post; I'll try and give a shout out to the one's that I've been to over the last few years that I've enjoyed, as I sometimes travel a lot for work and like to take my cues when I can:

Atlanta (home) - Twain's, Mr. Cues II, The Independent, Marietta Billiard Club, The Pool Room in Duluth (now defunct)

Raleigh - Brass Tap & Billiards (love this room!)

West Palm Beach - Kelly's Billiards

Bismarck - Shooters Billiards

Cedar Falls/Waterloo - Break Room Billiards

Austin - Buffalo Billiards

Albuquerque/Rio Rancho - Slate Street Billiards

Las Vegas - Best Billiards LV, Cue Club

Los Angeles/Burbank - Fantasia Billiards

Honolulu - Hawaiian Brian's

Tri-Cities, WA - Sure Shot Billiards & Darts

Toronto, CA - New Times Square Billiards

NYC - Chelsea Billiards

Probably leaving something off, but oh well...

funny memories.....

I've been to exactly one and only cuz it had some poker tables in it. It was in Connecticut, Southington I believe. Some blowhard jerkoff lets say his name was "Steve" owned the joint. This guy, you could never believe some of the garbage that came out of his mouth! A real piece of work this guy.... Ah how I miss those days spent in good ole CT. The Southington Motor Lodge is where I would stay on most of my visits, wonder if that place is still there? Sure hope not! Biggest dump in history, but I spent many a night there with 8 of their paper thin pillows under my head.

I hadn't really thought of it until I saw this thread; good topic!

It's got to be over 100 because I've traveled for work, off and on, for the last 25 years and have visited 45 states. It's rare when I'm out that I don't try to find at least one local room to play for a couple of hours.

I grew up in the DC area, VA side, and played in a bunch of rooms there including Weenie Beanie's, plus Cue N Chalk, and a couple others. I played in several different ones in Cincinnati when I lived there, Winston-Salem when I lived there, Savannah when I lived there, and Long Island when I lived there.

Here in Richmond, I've played in 6 but 2 of those have closed - Side Pocket and The Playing Field.

Most recently, I've played in a huge one in Minneapolis called Shooters and a slightly smaller one called Two Stooges. Both really good places to play. I also got a chance to play out in southern California at Hollywood Billiards but I haven't made it to Hard Times, yet.

50 years of pool, you see a bunch of places!

Brian in VA

Seriously, it would be easier posting how many girls I kissed. Feel free to interpret that to mean I've been to a lot of rooms or I need to change my hairstyle.

Probably over 1000.. I tried to list them all about 10 years ago and got to about 400ish... and I started to forget..

Not as many around as there used to be.. too bad...

Maryland:

VIP
Big Daddy's
Top Hat
Hard Times Cafe
Azul
Champions
Bank Shots
Green Room
Orange Ball (closed)
Jack and Jill's (closed)
Winstons (closed)
Blue Jays (closed)
Red Rock (closed)
And about 2 or 3 more rooms where I don't recall the names

*about 2 or 3 of the places were more of a bar than a pool hall so I don't know how that works out in the list.
