How many tournaments have you played in?

Include local weekly, monthly, simi-pro, pro and any other tourneys pool related - 8 ball, 9 ball, one pocket, 14.1 or whatever. Just how many tourneys have you played in?

I used to get out and play alot more in my younger days. Now with kids it is much harder to convince the wife to let me get out.
When I played alot, I won probably 30% of the time, and I owned some of the local weeklies. Now I dont polay often enought ot be competitive on that level.

In over 35 years of playing, I was averaging more than 5 a month and sometimes 2 or 3 in a week. I would venture a guess at maybe around 2000 that I have played in.

Now, of that 2000 number... I maybe won. 50. no.. more like 60... no... maybe only 45... I know its less than 100..

I've also been a TD for around 100 tournaments conservatively speaking.

In the last 40 years I have played in 542 tournaments and before I die, I'm determined to 'get in the money' at least ONCE.

Before gambling never, then when there was no action I entered many tournaments and played on several leagues.

I've played in 75 or so, won at least 35 and not placed in probably 10-15. Found a bar that had a good turn out, matched the pot with no good players. had a two+ month stretch with 7 straight 9ball 1sts, and 9 straight 8-ball 1sts at the same tourney. Was a late tourney, usually getting done at 1:30AM so noone stayed around for the finals and it was someone new each week. noone complained. Now I moved and no poolhalls here so all the good local players are in one bar...makes for a tough tourney when there's 10+ APA 8ball 7's in the tourney each night...they have 5 tourneys a week which is cool too.

well I can make a rough gues at this lets see been playing fo7 years including a year and a half on the now defunct Duffering ( ball tour up in Canada so lets see 1-2 tourneys a week locally the last 4 years 3-4 larger events a year I would have to ay just below 500 in total of that only say 30 % I placed in the money maybye 10-15% of thos were firsts

There isn’t really a point to this thread other than idle curiosity. I’ve played almost 20 years and of those years managed or had the good fortune to play in 1000 or more tourneys. Just wondered about others. My total tournament win percentage, I have no idea, probably very small.

Played in 400 or so tournaments in my life. I have won very few, maybe 40 but most of those wins would be A tournaments and they kicked me out of all of them. Now I am left playing in the open tournaments here in Calgary and they are chock full of top amatuer, semi-pro, and even a couple pro level players. Suffice to say I win these open tournaments rarely (noone really wins them alot, maybe Edwin Montal has a 30% or so rate and he is the best) I have about 5 trips to the finals, 1 win the rest were splits. My rate of making the money is well above 50% though.
