Have you considered plastic i.e., injection molding? Yes, the set-up costs will be high but once that's absorbed you could get production costs down to around $20 per unit or less. Then do a .60 profit margin and sell the thing for around $50. You'll increase sales by a factor of 10 overnight! Then get a major supplier to stock it (Muellers, Ozone etc...) Do a few spots on TV tournaments, mabey sponsor a pro and get them to promote the item in your ads.
Look at the Sardo tight rack, look at their original unit from years ago. It was heavy, elaborate and expensive (over $200). Now it's simple molded plastic and only costs $60.
Hi there. Yes i have looked into this. Plastic will not stay straight that is the trouble I have with that. I tried to make some out of it and it was bad. It would have to be about 3/4 to an inch thick for the top plate and i am still not sure it would stay straight then. I will have to do some more checking. We have a new company here and maybe he can do something. Thanks for the info, Doug
