How much are the original Predator break cues worth used?

I will be receiving a Predator break cue in the mail on Friday, and would like to sell it if everything goes okay with my pending trade deal.

I am not sure how much the original Predator BK cues are worth (now that they have come out with at least 2 newer versions of their break cue).

Any opinions about the value of an original Predator break cue that is in good condition?

What would be a fair price that I should be able to get out of the cue in todays used pool cue market?

Thanks for any opinions about this.

if the newer ones show up from time to time on here, slightly used, for $350, I would think $200-$225 shipped would be fair and move it out the door. ???
just my opinion.

Thanks. I wonder why Predator needed to come out with newer versions? What was wrong with the original Predator break? They just changed the design of the cue, or did they change the way they built it to? Just curious. Maybe this is a question for a new thread.

Predator is in the business of selling cues, and pool related products. Part of their business model requires refreshing their cue lines periodically. Not unlike the automobile industry.

Pure business and product development. It's up to the customer to decide if the older model should be replaced with "the new line with new technological" breakthroughs. Usually they want you to think so = ka-ching for them. How many Predator lines are there, the current ones going 8k-something. It's just business and the new lines keep coming while the cues are being sold. Too bad sometimes the new lines are built in a hurry, thus the inferior quality.

Maybe if it was in new condition.

Otherwise depending on condition $100-150 seems more practical.

Okay, so it is a good bet that I would have trouble selling it for more then $150 (if it is in good condition)? I wish there were other BK1 cues that I could find sold on ebay to get an idea of the value of it. I can't find one used anywhere at this time to get a price comparison. Maybe I should have asked in another way. How much would you be asking for a Predator BK1 that is in good condition? Kind of sad if $150 is the max that I could get out of it. I thought they were worth more then that. Was hoping that maybe they were kind of rare like the 1st edition Predator cues, but I assume that is not the case.

They are great cues. Good for breaking and doubles as a good playing cue as well. If I could get one for 150 I'd buy it.

Nothing stopping you from asking what you want for it, and seeing what kind of offers you get. Worst thing that can happen is it doesn't sell.

I cant find even 1 closed ebay auction for a BK1.

I wonder what happened to all of them? Did they all vanish? I would imagine that players would be selling their old BK1 in order to buy the new BK3 or what ever new BK technology Predator has come out with. I also can't find any for sale here on AZ.

Break cues gets beat to sh..With the BK cues there is an issue with the durability of the finish/paint and they usually end up looking pretty ugly. Hard to sell that online. I would imagine most of the butts get thrown out or just traded in the pool room, while some of the shafts gets held on to. For a while the shafts were quite popular as a playing shaft among good players around here. They are stiff hitting with lower than average deflection. I'm surprised that they are not even more popular.

Yeah, I heard that they are good players too. I will be receiving it on Friday. I might just want to hold on to it if I like the way it shoots, because I just traded my Jacoby playing cue, and am now without a cue. Thanks for your honest replies. In this current cue market, $150 really does not surprise me on its value.

I think at 150 it's a great value. Go to a pool room and talk it up a bit. Maybe they'll give you 200.

Predator is like every other manufacturer......."planned obsolescence" is their product philosophy.........it ensures market demand for newer versions.

Gosh, I really hope that the one that I will be receiving is in decent condition. It is scary to think that most of them were beat up badly and ended up in the trash. Is is that hard to take good care of a break cue? I never owned a break cue, but I imagine if I did, then it would have remained in mint condition.
