How much clearance?

Quick question, got my Tomahawk material today to replace the vault plate on my Rhino carbon shaft I chipped. I'm going to insert it in the shaft somewhere between .4 and .5 inches. The Rhino one was .3". I probably will hollow it out a bit till a bit before where it sticks out from the shaft.
Anyway, what would be a good clearance for the vault diameter of the plug portion that sticks in the shaft, vs the hole in the shaft, for the epoxy? So, say my hole is .415, would I make the vault plug portion .414 or .413 ?

They should fit as snug as possible. I use gage pins to test the hole and machine my vault plate to that exact outside diameter. A few shallow glue grooves helps a lot.

I know it seems like a stupid thing to ask, but I've watched a few youtubes where they could rock it back and forth, and that just didn't seem right.
Thank you everyone.

Mine have no play but definitely not tight, gotta have some room for epoxy and I cut a few glue lines also. Sand and clean clean clean the inside of shaft
