How much does a Diamond light weigh?

Although I didn't notice a weight being listed on Diamond's web-site, I did find this information which included critical measurements and mounting tips, including a directive to hang from the ceiling joists.
Hope this helps with your decision...don't think I'd expect dry wall to suspend the light safely...??

I don't know how much they weight, but I have the 9-foot one and if I'd guess, I'd say about 60-70lbs. I think you would likely be OK with 4 molly bolts, depending on the span between trusses/joists. 16" centers I doubt would have much problem holding. You might be able to get away with 2, but I'd probably go with 4.
A 1/4" togle bolt in 5/8"th's celing sheet rock will support about 95lbs per bolt, that's 380lbs of support with 4 bolts, to support an 85lb light
