What is the minimum room needed to fix a 4.1/2x9 pool table where you can shoot a ball frozen on the rail without the butt of your cue hitting the wall? I'm planning on putting a table in my garage and don't know if I need to clear out some more space. Thanks in advance

14-1/2 x19

If you want to be able to stroke that frozen ball with 6" of room and you have a 58" stick, then

For the width:

((58" + 6") x 2) + 50" = 178" = 14' 10"

For the length:

((58" + 6") x 2) + 100" = 228 = 19'

Two notes:

Notice that this 14' 10" x 19' differs from the previous post of 14 1/2 x 19. That's an important measurement error.

Secondly, I'm using a 58" cuestick in the formula. Usually, a tip is ~ 1/2" and the bumper could add up to an inch depending on your cue. Again, measuring is a good idea.

How big is the garage to start with? Hell, clear EVERYTHING out...have a yard sale...give it to the Salvation Army...throw it away. Then, along with the table put in furniture, stereo system, bar with giant keg, TV and DVD, and don't forget air conditioner/heater and dehumidifier. :D

Make sure you leave an extra 3 or 4 ft on one end/side of the table to allow room for doing the macarena and swingin' that awesome friggin cuetec. ;)

Well, if you ever watched the Seinfeld Episode when Mr. Costanza and Kramer got a pool table put in what I beleive was George's old room "The place to be" I beleive they called it, You could see that you can fit a pool table in any size room as long as you use a conductor's wand to shoot the balls with. Not sure if Cuetec makes conductor's wands though :)

I just got 2 lolli columns put up so I can fit a 9footer. I got 5 feet on each side and one spot where the damn stairs get in the way. I considered ripping out my stairs and putting in a fire man's pole. But getting back up with a load of laundry would be difficult. I already ripped out the railing and moved it to the other side of the stairs and have to saw off part of the overhanging stairway boards to increase the space. Once its all done it will be pretty good and the "shorty" stick will come into play very little if its needed at all. Still gotta get the pool table delivered to get the full picture.

I don't think they make 9 inch tables.... :) But if they did, i'm sure you can put it anywhere.
