how to choose a shaft?? help me

I am having a lot of troubles lately. I two predator shafts an 314-2 and a Z-2 shaft...

i have begun switching a lot between the shafts when playing badly with one of them. I really should only use one of them, to get to know it perfectly. I am as a person very uncertain, and therefor I have kept using both, being afraid to get rid of the "right one"...

A lot of the top pool players that I know uses the 314-2, therefor I tell myself that it is the better of the shafts, but when I ask them, they say "it the shaft that fits me the best" or "I haven't really tried the z-2"...

I don't know which of the two shafts to choose.... I have been playing mostly with the 314-2 trying to convince me it is best, because of the reasons above. But when playing with the Z-2 I find it very easy to play positions with the CB, but when missing a shot, ot REALLY misses...

How do I choose the "right" shaft???
 
Since it seems difficult for you to decide and I'm unaware of any concensus of opinion as to which is better. Why not flip a coin?
 
I think you already know the answer.

How about a blind test, cover up the labels on the shaft and see which works better for you. If you have a camera with a video mode, record yourself and see which one you are more at ease.
If you can afford it, keep both shafts and learn the subtle differences that set them apart.

First of all everyone has their own preferences, which taper do tou like best the 314 or the z ? It is all what you are comfortable with. If you are not comfortable and confident about how you play with the shaft , they are not gonna do you any good . It doesn't matter if it is a broom handle. Find which one you feel better stroking, i personaly could not get used to the z , i sold mine and stayed with the 314 , models . If you like a slimmer shaft perhaps you will like the z shaft . A new cue, a new shaft takes time to get used to. I honestly keep a Meucci in my case because I can play a better game of 9 ball on a 9 foot table with it. I have a regular player with a 12.65 shaft and an OB1 that I switch hit with. If I start a game with one and its not doing it for me, I switch and usually that does the trick. Keep both of them, at least for awhile longer. But, I did try a Z2 and was most impressed, so that is on my wish list now.

When I'm really stuck in a decision , back and forth just makes it worse.

What I do is add a 'control'. I use the control (like an intermediate stock shaft) for a while till it's comfortable then go to choice A and and see what that change feels like. Then back the control for a few days and then choice 2. That usually gives me a clean pallet for each and then the choice becomes more apparent.

Takes more time tho.
 
You do know what ever you decide, a week later after you get rid of one of them you will say i wish i would have kept that shaft !!! Lol . Sorry but it happenes to me all the time !!! Lol;)
