I play amatuer pro and when i'm on look out. However when i'm off i mine as well be shooting with a tree branch.

I can keep my composher and regain my stroke mid match.

But i when i'm off i just can't close it.

Just on Sat. I played a weaker player (an 8 CPA) and at double hill I had 6 dogged left front corner and 8 dogged side. With the angle of my cb i just needed to followthrough top right 3 rail shape. (his balls were in the way for one rail shape) still the cb was only 1.5 feet from the ob and I double jawed it, What the f...

Anyway does anyone have any pointers I'm sure we all struggle with this.

Cheers.

I have no idea what you mean. BTW, what is an Amature Pro?
I've only been playing for 14 years so I guess I havnt heard it all ;).
Concentrate more on the shot then on the position you will have. you can't shoot your next shot if you don't get the first one in.

It's quite alright, I wasn't implying that you were being cocky, I just was not familiar with the term.

After reading this, I stepped up my game a notch the next time I went to shoot. The following week I won 3 local 8-ball tournies back to back. Granted there were only 13 to 20 people in these tournaments, but I had barely been making it into the top 5 since I started playing in them a month or so ago.

I beleive watching the hit on the object ball has more to do with making me concentrate on the game than anything, but it put a little more life in my game.

wow all thoses places and only one that i've actually heard of which is shooters.....i've been there once. I play at Silver Cue every sunday...they have a tourny there. I usually go to Le Spot now more often, i used to go to Coronation, and Times Square but I don't like Times Square no more. I've also been to sharks......i've been busy lately but i should have more free time soon to play more often.

I think this has happened to most of us at one time or another! When I do it it's usually because I rushed through my pre-shot routine, didn't practice stroke the same number of times, didn't wait till my feet were set, etc...no matter how easy the shot, you still need to follow your routine and focus. Head down till the balls in the hole!

Figure out what you're going to do while your standing up straight or figuring your shot out. Once you get down to shoot, don't think anymore just shoot the shot just like Stick8 said.

I just went through this last night with someone who gives me pointers and a few lessons now and then, the 'just make the ball' when you down in your shot sounds like a good technique, I just went or maybe I still am going through a phase of trying to straighten my stoke(because it wasnt) so I dont know if thats thowing me off or not.

I know what you mean about not being able to finish it out. I feel like a fast car with a jacked up transmission,

I just want to be able to play me best, win or lose doesnt matter
