This is Daniels Pro 8 Brunswick Century down in Tenn. When Brunswick designed the slate screws to mount by screwing them right straight into the core of the plywood frame, I have no idea what they were thinking because it won't hold the slates in place, because the plywood just splits when the slate screw is ran in, so I modified the frame with some 1" L channel mounted to the frame of the table with carriage bolts, that way I'd have something to hold the slate to. That also required drilling new slate screw holes, and as you can see by using a template to hold the drill bit in place, my holes where actually better centered than the factory drilled holes. Then I used 1/4"x20 machine screws to hold the slate down to the L channel so I could guarantee the slates wouldn't shift at a later date, even if they were super-glued together.
