How to Shaft Jump Legally

Dominic,

I have to agree with the other posts. The $175 + $30 (S/H) seems a bit pricey to me. The hand made cues will undoubtedly be more desireable than the mass produced cues, but in either case one poster asked a very good question:

"How is this cue really going to improve my jumping ability?" Looking at your video, it seems as though you've demonstrated a technique (your aiming) for me to practice with my existing jump cue, without having to shell out the dollars. As far as marketing your cue, how about showing us what makes this cue so different, aside from the length and the weight. Does it make jumping any easier (aside from your technique)?

Will the mass produced Jesters be of similar quality than the hand made versions? Will the differences be subtle enough that one would only be able to see the numbering and your autograph as the differences? Another question someone may ask: Are there any pros that have signed on to the concept?

Another idea would be to have a giveaway. Have a drawing and the winner receives a Jester jump cue.

I don't want to really pick apart your business venture, because we need more of that in this country. It looks like you have a very marketable product. I'll just keep up to date on your developments. I wish you success in your endeavor.

It looks uncomfortable.

I regular sized jump cue is easy to handle. Easy to hold, easy to get the power. Standing almost straight up with this cue doesnt seem to get the control or the power that you seem to get leaning ober the ball with a normal jump cue. Also im not to sure this is the first time this idea came about.

I used to shoot in a local bar 8 ball tourny when a guy with a Lambros cue had it made so the butt end (the 5 or 6 inches after the warp) unscrewed there. Since this is where the weights are added it made the whole cue considerable lighter plus made the total length of the cue 5-6 inches shorter, putting it in range of the jester.

I also noticed in the video, you are still kinda looking back and forth when aiming the same as you would with a normal jump cue, grant it, your head isnt moving as much, but it just looks so damn uncomfortable.

The price, since they are not being mass produced yet, seems to be ok at best. Handmade or not, 200+ for a cue that is only gonna be used for jumping is a bit much. Jump shots do not come up often enough for me to want to buy this cue and not a jump break cue that will clear a ball just as easy, if not easier, even if this cue does make it a little easier to aim with.

As of right now, Im not a believer but I am keeping an open mind until I hear some more reviews from actual customers or have the chance to try one myself, still then I see no reason to get one, my x breaker jumps like kangaroo.

Hi,

I do not understand the "aiming" part.

Could you please explain to me what has being light to do with easier to aim?

There are a lot of very light jump cues such as the flying eagle, bunjee, and the Stealth. I am very curious what makes your cue "easier to aim" than theirs?

Thank you so much in advanced.

Richard
I think he's saying that the length of 50" allows a player to shoot a jump shot with a normal shooting stroke, rather than the common collapsed bridge arm method. Therefore, aiming and sighting normally. IMO, he erroneously believes that most people look at the object ball last on jacked up, obstructed shots. I don't.

That being said, what I don't think Dominic must realize in his "revolutionary" design is that the Stealth Air Jump is already the same idea (for several years now, and 1/2 the price). Both have a light handle, so the bulk of the weight is in the shaft. Both feature a two part handle: 50" full length, 40" shorter length when the extension end is unscrewed.

Unless Dominic has something else to offer that Ned & Mark don't offer, then this isn't new. But, it looks like it works well. As do most of the other jump cues.

He sounded more like he was practising his infomercial voice....LOLz....
