How to tighten the cross-feed on my lathe???

I have a small lathe, for tips
the cross feed has alot of slack,
i can turn the handle several times before any movement...
can this be tightened or adjusted ?

A 1/4 to 1/2 a turn might be in the normal backlash range, but several rotations means your dial and handle are probably not seated down properly. They need to be loosened and pushed or rotated forward (depending on how your lathe is made) until they take up any gap and then locked down. That should bring your cross-slide into normal backlash range.
