How was the image put on the cue?

Could someone please tell me how the images on the pool stick were put onto the cue. I have no idea how they do it.

In addition to that question, how do the images hold up over time?

The wood is stained blue (the background color) the artwork is a transfer. usually what is commonly refered to as a waterslide transfer. It requires a special printer and paper. They hold up pretty well if the cue has a quality clear coat over the transfer. But they will fade if they are exposed to direct sunlight over time. If you want some made let me know.
