How we roll

A new sitcom show based around bowling. I once read Taxi was first pitched as taking place in a poolroom.
Actually based on the story of professional bowler Tom Smallwood. I like the show but it does a horrible representation of the real pro scene.

Not into bowling but TV is about viewer fantasies. I like the Street Outlaws show but that's got built in thrills. I'm sure the lives of those crews are one big grind.

Taxi was one of the best comedy shows ever. Can never be matched. “Cheers” might have worked in a pool room.
A new comedy show could be done in a poolroom…. “Racks” or “Takes Balls”. The houseman, hustlers, the loser and those that hangout.

I only saw two episodes and I thought the writing was terrible. The worst part is the characters are not likable or relatable. And forget about the mother she is just downright obnoxious she makes you want to turn it off right away.

Lately I think of humans in terms of being like hamsters in a cage. The TV/movies are kinda like our hamster wheel or cool tunnels - they stimulate us so we don’t go crazy, instead of being out and living you get a watered down dose of human connection and vicarious thrills through the Box.

But the box is also trying to shape actions and personalities in a way. I don’t watch a lot of tv, and rarely newer stuff, but I’ve noticed a lot of characters and whole shows that are just garbage. Is it just lazy writing or something more insidious?

Who knows. But I’m way more careful these days of what I consume, both in food and entertainment.
