I bought a Gandy for our senior center . The pockets are most likely replacements , they are screwed in and also countersunk .

Yes, the guy who set up my Big G had them nailed in; not very well, they were damaging balls. I replaced w/velcro and have had no problems since.

The less expensive Gandy tables had pockets that just slipped in and could be yanked out when you hit a ball too hard and it popped out. The original California Billiards in San Jose, CA had over 20 of them.

What kind of velcro adheres to the plastic pockets and where exactly do you put the velcro?
The black velcro-ey kind? :) I don't remember where I got it or just how I stuck it on; some kind of spray glue maybe, it's been a while. Velcro is just under the pocket rim. Nothing's ever come loose, to take these pictures I found that it takes some effort to get them out. I could see the glue maybe failing if you did that frequently, not sure why you would.
(PS As you can see this table is no showpiece, pretty much just for practice.)
