How would you finish/line these pockets?

Antique Oliver Briggs table with tapered pockets. Should I cover the nailed leather pocket edges with the extra table cloth? Find matching alligator leather and use that instead? Something else?

I don’t have a great picture of my old 8’ and it may not be possible for your table but I replaced my pockets and this is what they look like. As well your cloth is lifting at the pocket. I would try to find a mechanic to fix your table. Nails should be nowhere near a pocket.

Ditto on the nails. They will nick/ruin the ball set.
