How would you play this? (twist on the main forum)

Since there are so many run out scenarios posted in the main forum for 8 & 9-Ball, I thought I'd try to set one up here and see what everyone thinks and maybe get everyone talking about the game more.

Hopefully it will help us novices of the game. :D

  1. What is your preferred path to the break ball?
  2. Which is your preferred break ball (and why)?
  3. Which is your preferred key ball (and why)?

I like doing this (scroll through - 6 pages in the diagram)

CueTable Help

In this pattern, I used the 11 as the key ball, playing it in the side, but if you want you can play it just about anywhere and get on the 14, I just thought this was the most natural shot to get me the angle I needed for the break shot.

There are other ways to do it, I just thought this was easiest since the layout sort of commits you to playing the 3 ball first.

I'd be interested to see how others would play it, I'm sure there are people that would play it much differently than I have illustrated this.

Well, I am left handed, so I like: 3, 14, 10, 1, 11, with the 7 as my break ball.

I havent figured out how to do multiple wei pages.

Actually, I had it up while I was at lunch and my result was the same shot sequence as yours. Nice to know I thought about it in the same manner.

I enjoy these types of threads too. Might sound weird, but I actually try to draw the lines in my mind when I am at the table for real. :D

Thanks for the answer David.
How would you other guys play it?

Here's what I do.
I use the red dot to save any changes I've made to the page.
I use the + to copy the layout to a new page.
