How would you play this?

My thought was, if I made the stripe and not the one, it would have stayed in the pocket therefore blocking his ball. It really wasn't a crazy shot. If you're familiar with that type of roll, and I know you are, the shot was very makeable. The trick was hitting the stripe flush to allow the one to continue forward.

Yeah and the other nice thing about the play is you're moving the 8-ball. I mean, no matter what, you want a shot at winning if something strange happens (like you making the ball OR your opponent botching his next inning). No matter what, you need to make sure things are open.

A lot also depends on the rules. If it's APA, you can afford to just whack it and see what happens. If it's BCA, I'll likely look for the pocket he needs most and see if I can park there.

It's a VNEA league so you have to call your pocket.

Gee whiz, your cue ball should be where the 13 is!!! You obviously took the wrong balls to start with (I love you guys that always take solids because you like them better ...ROFL).

I would do the same as stated in quotes.

Actually, the solids were laid out better. I made a mistake on the previous ball. My options were to get the CB where I left it or turn the CB loose and I didn't like those possibilities.

And, I am a stripe man anyway.
