Huebler "black"

Curious if any one knows what Huebler used to make things black? Seems this "ebony" has quite a bit of white in it. Also the black linen collar is a white/black linen collar. Would like to match the color as best I can but so far nothing seems right. Any one know the answer willing to tell?

Leaving in the morning for a needed 2 days off. Will post when I return. The collar is just the old style black linen I am guessing as the white weave is visible now that I have sanded the finish off. The forearm just is not ebony. Looks black til you sand on it and then white, tan or maple color I suppose, starts coming through. I tried a sharpie and I tried aniline dye. Both or the wrong color.

As to the blk linen collar, I personally like that and I know that a lot of other people do as well.
Basically, if you can see linen you know it's not some cheap plastic. Personal view I guess.

To the painted f/a, I'm going to suggest rattle-can flat blk.
Your clear-coat will give it it's gloss.
Gloss blk has too much gloss to begin with.

Not a matter of my choice in liking seeing the thread in the collar or not as this is a rewrap/refinish. Forearm has points/veneers. I can mask off the points and spray the flat. Thanks.
