Does anybody know where I can get one of the plastic Huebler inserts? A friend broght me his cue with a broken shaft. I can salvage the rings, but need to come up with an insert to finish it off.

Thanks

I normally just make my own out of white abs if needed. I do have some of the original Huebler nylon ones. Pm me your address Tony & I'll send you a couple.:)

when you do the inserts do you thread them in or just glue?

Do you ever worry about ABS being so soft that it might easily cross thread? I was experimenting around with different materials to use as inserts in shafts for radial pins and tried ABS. It was easy to install and tap but it felt as if the pin could easily be started wrong so I never used it any more. If it works good I may go back to it.

I can see your concern Dick, but honestly I've had no problems. I have even used it a lot in 5/16-18 configuration as in Meucci replacement shafts...with zero problems. I had some of the old white abs from Atlas, it had a blueish tint and was very soft. The newer white abs is a bit firmer and has no blueish tint. The black seems the same. I started using it due to ease of tap...but everyone loves the hit. The abs may cushion the hit a bit as compared to brass. Best of luck.:)

Sweet. I tried a few materials and though the black canvas based ferrule material was nice and crisp, it was difficult to tap for a radial.
