Hey all new guy here. Started in an apa league a few months ago and been playing with a sneaky Pete I got off eBay. It plays well but now I have a buddy that has a Huebler that has a wobble in the shaft he's looking to sell. He wants $200 for it, I just wondered if that was a little too much for a cue with an obvious wobble. Might be able to get pics in a few days. He's pretty sure it was bought in the 90's. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Spoke to him he said it's yellow with a wrap and four points.

Is it just the shaft or does the butt have a roll? How much roll? It may not be enough to matter, check ebay and see what they are going for. How do you shoot with it? Make him an offer and see if you can get a new shaft made if it is just the shaft. John

As brokenarrow said, the amount of wobble is the key. If the butt wobbles by itself, I would walk away. However, there are few truly straight Hueblers.
I suspect that you stroked a few balls and it felt great, thus your interest. If their is only a very slight taper roll wobble, no big deal, however I would not pay more than $150. Some Huebler sp's are worth $200 but they need to be A+ condition.
Watch ebay. There have been a lot of plain Jane Hueblers listed lately and you should be able to get one with a stainless joint an linen wrap for what your buddy (?) is asking.

If the cue is a Production model Heubler and it has a bad shaft $200 is to much for the cue. Make sure the butt doesn't also have a wobble, if the butt is straight I would offer him no more than $150 because you are going to need a new Shaft which will cost between $100 and $200 depending upon who builds it. Also save the bad shaft because the collar can be used on the new shaft so that it matches the cue.

Now depending upon the condition of the cues butt you may also want to have it refinished when the new shaft is made this will also cost you between $125 and $250 depending upon who does the work.

So after a refinish, and a new shaft if you pay $100 to $150 for the cue you will into the cue for a littel over $300, whcih is not bad because to buy a new cue today would cost you at least that or more.
