Any way to "unexpand" the joint area of the shaft?

I have two bender shafts that when they first arrived, they fit tight, then got tighter..now i cant even screw it in more than half way.

is there some way to make it fit again? put baby powder or somethign to absorb the moisture or water inside it?

Thanks in advance.

By the way, I am in Hong Kong, so that can explain the humidity and moisture. I try to keep it in a relatively humid free place..but there is no such thing here in HK.

You could use a little cube of soap wich you can rubb on the threads of the pin... That should take care of it.

Screw your shaft two or three times on the butt and off and it should be perfect.

Reguardless of what kind of joint threads you have, if you take it to a cue repairman or machine shop, they can run a tap lightly into the shaft threads...JER

Fish, I seal the ends of my shafts with super-glue, to help keep moister OUT, before any cues go out the door. I also use paste wax on the threads to seal the wooden inter threads. Apply a little wax on the joint pins threads and screw the shaft about 3/4 of the way down. DO NOT go all the way down as it would allow the wax to build up on the face of the shaft and cue. Clean the excess wax of the shaft and pin, and you should be ready to go.
BTW, soap is made with water and chemicals, wax is made with mainly petroluim based oils.
