I posted this question on the mechanics section a couple of weeks ago
and got no reply.What is the proper humidity level in a room for the best
playing condition for a pool table?Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

I'm no expert here, but unless you have a mold, or mildew problem around your house, I wouldn't worry about it. Pool players have been playing in all types of atmospheric conditions for years and years.
As a matter-of-fact, knowing how a tables reacts to changes in it's environment can be of benefit when playing at different locations. When the humidity is high the table tends to slow down. When low it gets a bit faster. :smile:
 
Agreed. My room is in a basement. If it starts climbing it gets musty. That's why I keep mine where I do. If your room doesn't have moisture issues. Probably doesn't matter.
 
When the humidity is high and the balls roll slow, or when low and the balls roll fast - make mental notes on the adjustments you make to your game.

Over your future pool playing lifetime, you will enter pool halls with those conditions. Knowing how to adjust your game accordingly, will frustrate the locals who might think they have a home field advantage. :)
