I-2 vs. G core?

Guess I originally posted this question in the wrong area, as nobody replied in the main forum and my question quickly got bumped to the third page. Let me try it in this section, sorry for my being new to these forums!

Anyways, does anyone have any experience with both the I-2 and the G Core LD shafts from McDermott? Other than the fact that they put the I-2 on their more expensive cues, what's the difference between these shafts? How is the actual feel and playability of them compared to each other and also compared to other LD shafts?

Thanks for any input you may have.

the g-core isn't very LD in my experience. the shorter ferrule makes it slightly lower deflection, but that much. the graphite tube in the shaft only goes down about 7" and it is plugged with a maple dowel. no hollow spaces in the whole shaft. the tube stiffens the shaft, but not as much as the i2 which has one running the entire length. the i2 only has a maple dowel for the first 4", so it is hollow and on the lighter side. the i2 is a real LD shaft, though not in the class of a pred or ob-1. i thought both were fine shafts but pretty different in terms of deflection and feel. the g-core is kinda like a regular shaft, the i-2 feels different, but the very light weight can throw your cue balance off.
