I've been trying to learn Pro1/CTE for a while and I can't seem to get it down. Way I aim is using LE,LQ,CENTER,RQ AND LE. I step back and visualize the angle to pocket then judge picking which of those points(LE,LQ,CENTER,RQ AND LE) to hit at.

I'm alway center cue ball when I get down to shoot but at the same time I'm aligning the edge of the tip/shaft at one of those points. Left shot, use the left edge of the shaft. right shot use the right edge of the shaft. I've been doing this for a long time as I've been playing.

now on a thin cut shot. I use the same method but instead of going into center cue ball.....I go like 2 or 3 tips over on the cue ball and align at the edge of the ob ball with edge of the shaft....same thing use right to go right and left to go left on the edge of the shaft. once I dial it in,......then I pivot to center and shoot it then it go in.

I've been using this a long time and been trying to try out different aiming system like PRO1/CTE,TOI( I've getting hang of that a little) and SVB aim way( kind of same thing I do now but his is using more additional on the shaft and alway looking at edge of the OB. I've try TOI and shane way.....they are easy and simple to see and learn. PRO1/CTE.......well I've been trying that and it seem like to me that PRO1/CTE is a 50% put body in the right line but other 50% is little adjustment on the shaft and my buddy and I think that too much to thing about doing before doing english shot and where position cue ball.

anyway how y'all aim????

I've try Pro1 and learn it for month and half couldn't make a ball. friends of mine try it and told me something little different......which what I post in the topic....50% put us in the right body stance and other 50% is little adjustment on cue stick. we both think that too much thinking and to do before we shoot the ball. we wanna think 3 balls ahead on cue ball position, know what english and where to shoot at OB......that it.

I'm not hating on Pro1 and I think some people are different on body positions. I'm just saying when I get the lines down then get down.....I come forward in then I see that it not right. I back up.....move and and work my way once I see center to edge then get down.....again look wrong. cause I'm in the 45 degrees angle body like.....then step in with 1 foot then....still look wrong. I watched stan and I'm like how he doing that.

Yes, I am doing everything Stan say.....just maybe I am offsetting way too much or too tight.like you says....standing position.

next time I go to the ball...I make ball on different step....like big step, med step or small step and maybe one of those step into the shot and also correct my offset range and once I find it....I'll see what up. Thanks for the help....you make it seem easy and understanding beside everyone else tell me....what they tell me is what wait slow down what lol.....like they rush me into this and that.

You might find this usefull info but it's an interpretation of SVB verbal description of edge, center, edge of ferrule/shaft aiming. I like your method of aiming thin cuts (2 or 3 tips off of center CB) but the pivot will take you out of the proper stance when you pivot back to the center of the CB....or perhaps not for you.

The 2 tips develops one angle and the 3 tips another (wider) that as the CB rolls down table it (CB) may roll too far to the outside...adjustments have to be made and memorized. Adjustments can be made for a thicker or thinner angle that lie between the quarters as you described.

Good luck with your aiming.

I like the diagram what LAMas did. He explain very well about the shaft/tip aiming. his view of looking at the OB little different than what I am looking at the OB but I am going to considering learning this way and shane vanboening way.
