I am heading to ATL- Mr. Cues II this Thurs

Any AZers out there that play at Mr. Cues II? I am not carrying cues etc. I am going on business. Is there a tournament?
 
Sorry not much going on at cues other then league play on Thursday's.You might catch Johnny Archer there practicing,last Thursday he was giving free pool lessons.Friday night you have a handicaped turnament for c and under players.General draws 25-40 players.
 
There is a good 1pocket tournament on Wednesday. It will generally draw out Paul Song, Alice Rim, and many strong players. Cliff Joyner will come out sometimes too. Infact most people playing in there (They average 20 players) I believe are considered to strong for APA or would be ranked 8s and 9s. I go to that when I can.

It is handicapped too. But being an outsider they'll likely rank you high. It starts at 8:30 and is $20 to enter with player auction.

Thanks. I will check it out when I get in. I won't be able to make the Wed tournament. I will probably just go and check it out.
 
There is a $1500 added event in Chattanooga...a couple hour drive at either Diamond Billiard club or Charlies in the nearby town of Soddy Daisy.

9 Ball...bar boxes. Competition will be TOUGH.

Wednesday is Handicapped 1 Pocket and Friday is the C/D Tournament. Many Strong Players at Cues. If you have time, drop by The Pool Room in Marietta. I'll be here....all the time...everyday. =P

I want to come and play in this one Wed.
Does it start at 8:30? Or is that the "starting time"?
How many usually enter?
What is the race?
 
There is a $1000 added Viking Tour Event in Athens, GA. this weekend. Its about 40 mins from Mr. Cues II. Should be a pretty strong field.

If you stay in town until the weekend, I'd suggest heading up to the Viking tournament on Saturday in Athens. I know that Mike Janis and I will be there. I'm pretty sure Southpaw and Corvette will be there. There is always a great field there. Everyone from Atlanta always shows up, as well as quite a few from North Georgia, Greenville, and North Carolina. I haven't talked to anyone yet, but the ones who usually show up from Atlanta and surrounding areas are: Stevie Moore, Shannon Daulton, Tony Watson, BJ Ussery, Paul Song, Mark Gregory, Billy Tyler, Brian Tyler, Shane Wade, Brian White, Paul Turner, Jason Klatt, Doug Young, Floyd Reasons, Jeff Abernathy, Brian Capps, and others. There are several women pro players who show up. Monica Webb, Helena Thornfeldt, and Alice Rim usually play. Big Nasty usually shows up, and so does Angry from Atlanta, so there's usually a little action stirred up. And they always party pretty hard at this event (ask Janis about last year).

It's a good tournament with great players. If Georgia happens to beat Florida, it will REALLY be a party town Saturday night.

They are also having a big costume contest at the Brass Rail this Saturday night. Corvette1340 said he is going as Tony Watson...lol. See ya this weekend.

Yeah , Im either going as Tony or Scotty Townsend. Southpaw is going as Brian White and Brian is going as Bruce Berrong.

I guess I need to work on a costume. Right now I'm thinking I'll go as either Sweet Marissa, Papa Murphy, or Big Nasty.

If you go as Papa Murphy, you could get Sweet Marissa to walk in front of you as you cup her ass with your hands. You will be a shoe in to get "most realistic" , lol.

As far as the contest goes, I couldn't beat all the women off that you do.
