Well tonight I ended up with a new Meucci Original lol So i wont be getting a Jacoby.

One of the guys i know from the pool hall we got to talking cuz i seen his cue, and noticed it was a Original, and i had talked about buying a Jacoby, and said i was in the process of selling my motorcycle to buy one. Well He show'd me his Meucci which is similar to mine, but No wrap and has 4 Veners (sp) or Points as i call them lol. But its very nice, it was recently re-finish by Meucci, it also has two shafts also.

I also shot with it tonight in the tournament i was in, and took first lol, so i dont know if thats a Omen or not lol.

But in the short run,,, He wanted my motorcycle and i got his Meucci, and his leather Instroke case too.

oh and just to let everyone know, my motorcycle didnt want to start up, and i told my buddy this before hand, and it had been like this for a couple months. So it wasnt like i was trading away a perfectly good motorcycle.

Oh and anyone who dogs on Meucci is smoking CRACK , cuz i have had many people tell me that mine hits nice and plays very well.

Hey SHR 300,

My first cue was a Meucci (even though I put a predator shaft on it). It doesn't matter what anyone says about it as long as you like the way it hits!

Hey Jennifer:

Yes, I remember seeing you playing with that Meucci--it was a red one with a lot of white oval windows and some scrimshaw or something like that, isn't it? Although I never get to look at it closely, it seemed to be a very fancy and nice looking cue. I think the first time I saw you with that cue was in 2003 Lincoln City but I am not entirely sure, it could have been San Diego in 2004...

Anyway, I agree with you totally. If you like the cue and that it works for you, then by all means, knock youself out. :)

Cheers,
Richard

Hey Richard,

It was the Meucci Cameo cue. I'm not a big equipment nut...I'm with Greenkill on the Indian/Arrow thing.

Jenn

Well its good to hear that other people are on my side :)

And yes like like GreenKill said Its the Indian not the arrow lol

But it seems like EVERYONE in my area wants a Schon. In which i had a Schon LTD for 4 yrs untill last June. But thats another story.

And yes Jenn and Nippon is right about, it doesnt matter what kinda cue it is as long ad You like the way it hits.

i have an old meucci sneakypete, one of the ones that has the meucci name and black band around the butt......great shooting stick with excellent feel. My main stick is a schon but i always have the meucci in my bag too. Its funny but I had never heard all the bad stuff about meucci until I got to this forum. Not sayin it aint true, just wasnt aware.

Even though I shoot with a Phillippi, the one and only Meucci I really liked shooting with was extremely old, and has the blockprint style of Meucci logo as opposed to the cursive font. THAT stick hit really nice.

Kokopuffs, you probably had/have a Meucci Original, if its in the smaller block print on the Butt of the cue.

and to Scottcoyote the only bad thing i really ever heard about Meucci's was thier Old Ferrules where brittle like china lol. But obviously they took care of that. I dont know if this is bad, but i know some people dont like Meucci's cuz they tend to cause unwanted english sometimes.

I know there are a lot of people out there who say the older Meucci's (not the really old ones) were too whippy, but don't the red dot shafts play well?

Hiya Jenn :) ,

The "really old" Meucci's had solid shafts and were fine except for the ferrules cracking. The early Black dot shafts (35 laminations) had a similar problem but not as bad.Current Black dots have the new ferrule and are fine. The Red dot shafts (24 laminations I believe) also have the new ferrule. As to how they and all other shafts "PLAY".....well that's a matter of personal preference. Like the man said "It's the Indian not the arrow".
Generally the shaft is more important than the butt in how a cue plays and tip hardness, shaft taper, joint type and shaft construction all play a part in the "feel of a cue". Check out the Tests on Meucci's site and on Platinum Billiards and you can see the differences.
Jenn you play with a Predator....some like....some don't.Me I'm gonna save up for an ICE shaft from Mcdermott...not quite as stiff as the predator.
Meucci's are fine but i think his tests have ticked off some Predator fans and a lot of cue repairmen remember changing lots of ferrules on Meuccis.

Hey Terry,

I had a chance to try the McDermott Intimidator shaft and although it was a fairly big adjustment I really felt like I could get a lot more action on the cue ball. I'll have to make the switch in the off season.

Hi Jenn :) ,

I'd be real careful about changing shafts Jenn. You're used to the Pred and from what I saw of your performance at H-wood Classic you can already shot the lights out with the Pred :D . The Predator is made with very good, solid engineering technology as is the Mcdermott. If you try to switch you could wind up with your game going to s**t for awhile. :(
Jenn...check your PM's.
