I Can't Avoid My Favorite Poolhall

Everyone has a favorite poolhall. Everytime I drive by mine, I always point it out as my second home.

Unfortunately, there are unpleasant occurences that take place stemming from headstrong characters. But still I love my poolhall. The intramurals between dominant characters adds to the ambiance, together with the ridiculing, the back biting, and some other ugliness. And I still love my favorite poolhall.

I am new to this Forum, but it seems to have an acceptable ambiance to me... just like my favorite poolhall.
 
Good point, Sputnick. All the characters,
insults, woofing, tempers--- reminds me
of players in a pool hall. Others on this
forum need to keep this in mind.

Unfortunately, in almost all poolhalls there are hustlers.
Losers who have been playing pool before they learned their abc's. The same losers who think players who don't gamble need to be hounded over and over again.
But, if you drive to your pool hall. That's better than most loudmouths there who probably took the bus or bummed a rid to get there.:D
My local pool hall has it's share of characters. One loud one was permanently banned. Now, if all room owners did this, pool halls might actually be nicer to be in.
 
In my favorite pool hall, two guys that were not regulars were drinking beer and had their bottles on the pool table. The guy working behind the counter asked them to take the drinks off the table. The two guys had been drinking quite a bit and they got a little belligerent. This pool hall has 16 tables in the main room and most of them were filled with regulars. When these two guys told the counterman where he could put the beers, everyone stopped playing and started walking towards the two players. They got message quick and took their drinks off the table and immediately appologized to the counterman. That's why it's my favorite pool hall.

Right is right and wrong is wrong and wrong shouldn't be tolerated much in my book. I don't expect everyone to be perfect and wouldn't want them to be but it shouldn't take a college degree to figure out what wrong is. These two guys were in the wrong plain as day. If pool halls, or any place for that matter, were to make these kinds of behaviors unacceptable, maybe some people would start behaving like they should. Danged, I got on my soapbox again!!
 
I'm damned if I can figure out why that post ended up in this thread.
 
too far from where i live. i know there's lots of action there. I also live near west ave. Ived been playing at Bugsy in examiner street. I played with Edwin Reyes last time. Do you know anybody who is interested in buying a Viking cue? I hav two of them. I want to dispose one. Im selling it for a bargain.
