I didn't expect to wake up to this...

The video was removed shortly after Inside Pool Mag's reply to my comments.
Part 1 of 2 is still available ,but not nearly as offensive. Lots of "F" bombs and other
Cursing.
Part 2 of 2 had 3 songs in the 14 minute video with cursing ,talking about smoking weed ,and women performing sexual acts..

For Part 1 of 2 goto inside pool mags YouTube channel under Derby city classic 2014- nyc grind super news spotlight part 1
Again..this is not the video just part 1 of the more offensive or a warm up
The lyrics of background music bothered you? I am 59 and not a fan of some modern music but I recognize i am not modern. We need youth in the game! I can fade a lil music if it brings new players

Another thing is that IP might not have had anything to do with the music. Some of the events ae held in pool rooms where the patrons control the jukebox.

If the tradeoff is to subject the viewer to the jukebox music in order to bring a high caliber match then I would show the match. The music isn't anything that viewers wouldn't hear on a typical night in most pool rooms anyway.

As for it being publicly available on youtube......everything on youtube is one click away from battle rapping if you really want to be offended by words, if certain words offend you that is.

These days everyone is able to cry and whine and moan with a click of the keyboard. It used to be if something you saw bothered you, the only recourse was to write a letter and mail it to the show/tv station in question, or post an ad in the local paper etc. Now people can express their outrage in a few seconds with a few swipes of their fingers and in the process bore the living SHIT out of the rest of us.

The OP has so little to do in his life that he made an account on AZB just to express his moral outrage at an off-the-cuff remark by someone at IP, who put on a FREE STREAM and reacted to a crybaby man-child appropriately. If we're going to constantly throw this stupid word around then this kind of self-righteousness over such petty, insignificant crap is offensive indeed.

The emboldened part of what you said above is what I completely disagree with. I have run free streams in the past, and the ambient music present is what it is. If people don't like it, or are offended by it, they most certainly can complain about it, or just stop watching. Just don't expect it to change because you complained about it. However, The response by IP to this is just plain INAPPROPRIATE. There are most definitively more constructive ways to deal with someone complaining about something you have no control over. Telling them to "f*** off and die" is NOT among those.

It's good to see you're still enjoying yourself with this thread.

I do not understand why people can't register their displeasure without tacking on the boycott punishment?

like when some people on here don't like my stance on an issue they inevitably play the "I will never buy a case from you" card.

as if people can't disagree without trying to genuinely harm the other side.

I get it that someone can be pissed. and if there is a good reason to boycott a product then do so.

but to use the threat as a general weapon is a bit silly. and it's not effective.

more effective is expressing your opinion sincerely with civil conversation. I have great discussions in private with detractors where we have come to consensus on issues. I have switched my perspective based on those conversations.

but trying to SPANK me publicly will almost always be met with hostility and derision.

That said.....inside pool's response was way too harsh.

I think that comes from the same people that say they are going to sue if you say something about them or shove them in a bar when they were askng for it.

Well I am not sure what you are referring to - but if it's me, I absolutely WILL sue every person on any forum who defames me with outright lies as long as I can find out their personal information. I already have a few that are on the list for a future court date.

For 17 of the past 25 years I have been out of the USA. So the people who have chosen to defame me were protected by distance and logistics. No longer as I am moving back permanently.

As for "asking" for it? What do you mean? Give me an example of how a person asks to be assaulted in a bar and we can carry on the discussion further. I know I have been threatened and I certainly didn't "ask" for it.

I'm probably the only one but I think IP's response was a humorous and a valid response. Probably not well thought out though.

The irony of responding with vulgarity to someone who is offended by vulgarity....well it is a thing. And I'm sure that's what they were going for.

Completely misfired in this case. They should give the OP a free stream. Oh wait, they already did that.

That's not what I was addressing genius, I was saying if he was truthfully so bothered
by foul language then he wouldn't post more foul language. Hope this isn't to hard for
you to grasp, genius !
He wasn't offended by foul language...he was offended by "fowl" language.
Check his post.
I think it is funny......on both sides.:smile::smile:

Your are entitled to your own opinion. That is the beauty of the first ammendment. Same as my feelings on the video (not a stream) , as well as IP's response. Even up to the point when I chose to submit the thread. Sorry to be a such a "BORE" to you. This is a "FREE FORUM" and would suggest possibly finding more stimulating reading material while online.

The music was added by inside pool when the video was edited. Not in the background on a jukebox.
It was the soundtrack to the video. Lots of cursing (not that big of deal) Smoking weed, pimping hoes and receiving felatio while his gettin his paper.
I just really showed why our youth is headed in such a bad direction as well as pool.

That music imo..has no place in content the children and adolescents may view or have access too. Inside pool really dropped the ball when letting whomever select the music that is accompanied with their uploads.

I view free streams the same as blog's...if you don't like what's there, go elsewhere.

Imagine if someone sent you a message complaining because they don't like what you put up on your blog...what would your response be?...mine would be about the same as inside pool, probably not as vulgar, but definitely in same direction.

If you don't like their FREE, go use someone else's FREE.

It's like food stamp people complaining because they think their free money should be bigger.

Exactly my point... "Not as vulgar "
I'm glad somebody finally understood the reasoning behind my post.
:)

This was NY Grind's mix reel from the Derby that someone at Inside Pool ripped the soundtrack out of and added back their idea of what would be appealing... If I was Jerry Tarintola I would likely be a little pissed off since he was the one who originally took the time to edit their footage down to put up on New York Grind's website so he would own the copyright.... http://www.nycgrind.com/the-latest/...rby-city-classic-super-news-spotlight-part-2/

Maybe the OP can confirm these were the videos ripped off and edited....

I believe that it is the original video. I tried to pull up the link of the video in question, and is no longer available ...
Thank you for posting the link. I will be looking forward to watching it and being able to enjoy it.

I always laugh when people say because it's free no on has a right to complain. Once it's put out to the public it is going to get scrutiny no matter what it is. Normally I would just turn the volume off and watch and I wouldn't say anything but to each their own. Either way I think we can all agree that a company responding that way isn't the smartest thing to do. Either ignore it or say "Sorry you feel that way" and move on. It's bad business practice to respond like they did and nothing good can really come from it... At the same time I'm sure we have all dealt with customers that we would have liked to respond that way to though..

Next thing you know people will complain about air or the ocean being polluted.

That's right. Once you set something free it's open to criticism and praise.

And how you respond to criticism sets the tone. If you are deferential and nice then everyone loves you, especially the critics whose ego is boosted by the thought that their critique was brilliant and right. If you lash out against the criticism then you get what IP is getting now.

That's not to say that some criticism isn't warranted. All actions and offerings are open to inspection and criticism as it should be.
