I don't want to be that guy that...

wears the glove on our team in league (no offense to glove wearers). I just started this summer and it can get pretty humid here in the Austin area and this Wednesday during a torrential downpour on league night I hit the hand chalk a record number of times because of the conditions. I was looking at some longoni cue wax and was wondering if it works or what tips y'all have for keeping the shaft smooth so I don't have to be the glove guy. Thanks.

Many, many players in our league were gloves. But then again, our league is only full of good players, that might be the difference right there. Winning is the only thing that matters, nobody cares who wears a glove, shoots with LD shafts, wears big glassed to see the ball better, etc. They just wanna win.

PS: There are not many girls in pool rooms, so who gives a crud what you look like anyways :)

Gloves are cool

Keep your hands clean. #1 tip.

But regarding the glove. Forget what people think. Wear it and run out!

I used to think gloves were silly, uncool, and uncomfortable. But then I was gambling and decided to use one because of conditions and in five minutes I forgot it was there.

In 1965, I saw one of the pro bowlers wearing a glove on tv. The announcers were ridiculing him. But he was Bowler of the Year I believe, so I gave it a try, and set five city records in my home town.

I don't sweat a lot, but I do occasionally play in humid conditions, and I couldn't do it without a glove, which I always carry in my case.

Macho BS about gloves, purses, etc. is just noise made by those insecure in their manhood...

Whenever humidity was high, or AC was not working, my hands would sweat syrup!
Don't know why, but really sticky sweat. I mean I could pick up a cue ball with my open palm!
So I started wearing a glove, but needed at least two pair, as they were soon soaked.

Finally asked my doctor about this problem, and he prescribed "Glycopyrrolate" 1mg. tablets.
Worked very well for me. Some users have a dry mouth side effect, but I do not.
