I got a McDermott I shaft

Tried it out for a couple of hours last night. Hit is very nice but that could just be the Moori tip. The most notable difference other than the weight (it seems light) is when I jacked up on the cue ball or had an elevated bridge it didn't seem to change where I aimed. I have a tendency to over cut when I'm froze to the rail or jacked up. Also it didn't seem to exagerate english, but it will take a couple of weeks to get super comfortable with it. I'd have to get a Moori on my other shaft (and exact same taper) to be able say yes it is better or no noticable difference.
Has anyone else bought one?

ive been waiting to hear some feedback on the ice shafts........i want one of these new shafts for my schon.......whether it be a 314, a tiger or an ice. Keep us informed

Cool... glad to hear that you like it. I've been waiting 2 months for my i-shaft. Where did you order it from and how long did it take to get? Also, which one did you get, the 1, 2, or 3?

I am presently considering the I-3 for a old D21 and D15 that need new shafts! I am curious which shaft you acquired the I-3 is a 11.75 mm and if you are not used to a small diameter shaft and tip I could see your aiming issues ! you may need the I-1

pla·ce·bo ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pl-sb)
n. pl. pla·ce·bos or pla·ce·boes

A substance containing no medication and prescribed or given to reinforce a patient's expectation to get well.
An inactive substance or preparation used as a control in an experiment or test to determine the effectiveness of a medicinal drug.
Something of no intrinsic remedial value that is used to appease or reassure another.
(plä-chb) Roman Catholic Church. The service or office of vespers for the dead.

Trust me, no shaft is going to cure "chang[ing] where [you] aim". That's you. You control the cue, not the other way around. It sounds like you have added confidence playing with the I-shaft. That's great. Anything that leads to added confidence is something that should definately be repeated.

I got new shoes. Boy they are they fast! :D

I got the 12.75mm (I-2), I ordered it Monday and got it Weds. 2 months man where did you order it from? Jude, I thought I was keeping a very open mind and used words like, "seems" and "might be the Moori tip". I've only ever hit a couple of balls with a predator and I played with a tiger shaft of a friend of minds for a couple of weeks. So I can't make an honest comparison. Am I going to replace my 20 year old birdseye shaft with this? Jury is still out, definatley going to switch to a layered tip. Mean while I'll keep poppin' those placeboes like tic tacs and hope for the best.

BTW that is an American Bulldog on my picture thingy.
My shoes are way faster, they've got velcro and reflectors.

Do you usually shoot with a 12.75 or with a 13mm there is a period of adjustment between the 2 and the smaller the tip the more accurate you must be but there are with them greater rewards!

 You ordered it on Monday and got it on Wednesday? Wow that's fast. I ordered from Seyberts. Usually they're pretty good, but this time they keep saying that McDermott is pushing back the ship date. Where did you order from?

That's dangerous territory you're entering, sir. We have a placebo-king in New York who used to buy a new cue every month.

I'm done cue shopping for quite awhile to tell you the truth I'm bored with it. Now it's time to figure this combination out. I also switched to a lighter cue at the advice of a friend who plays very well ;) New guy, I called Hawleys ( sorry no link thing) and they had them instock as of the other day. I'd call them but tell them not to ship it until Monday. I don't know about everyone else i don't like my stuff in transit on the weekends. Just weird that away.

Hawleys website: www.hawleys.com. I have ordered things from them in the past with very good results.

I know a few golfers that have similar problems... more money than stroke and trying to trade one for the other on a regular basis... not to say that the original poster is so afflicted, I have no idea.

Dave, a cheap little man who's been known to keep a $0.75 tip for too long

It IS an excellent shaft and I, as well as others, have posted on it a good while back while you guys have been snoozin' and losin'. Go into the archives.

I use it on my Schon and it plays great. I got the I-1 with a 13mm tip, but that's my preference and I just don't like them smaller. Forget your other choices, get an I.C.E.

Thanks, I just got back today. Sneakin'? Naw...I jumped right in and am attempting a little stirrin' ;) I'm slightly out of shape and rusty for the mental gymnastics. Hell, I didn't even have the little woman around for 7 weeks bitchin' and whinin' to keep me sharp. But I CAN tell you if there's such a place as heaven now. :D

BTW, if anyone thought that I might have died...I appreciate it. But since I will, please send all contributions to the "Drivermaker pre-mortem memorial wine, women, and food fund". Send only cash, check, or money-order. Do not send flowers, canned goods, or old moori tips.

And for those that wished I had died...tough titty. :p
